We take extra care in our Special Needs Swim Classes to provide a comfortable swim environment
For many special needs swimmers, the water is a therapeutic and comforting place. And with the pool being heated to 90 degrees, the warm water is not only an ideal learning environment, it also creates a relaxing and calming experience. Swimming helps to create an awareness of body through fluid movement, while tuning both fine motor skills and promoting development of major muscle groups.
Swimming plays an integral role in building both confidence and a healthy respect for water, and is especially important for those whose strengths do not lie in being aware of their surroundings.
Little Swimmers developmental swim program uses water education to develop water safety and swimming skills, improve motor coordination and also focuses on developing self-confidence and self-esteem. Our program is based on using repetitive skills to build upon your child’s strengths and is customized for each child’s emotional and developmental abilities. We offer 30 minute private special needs swim classes without other swimmers nearby to allow for our little swimmer to focus entirely on our instructor.
