Semi-Private Lessons
Starting at the age of 2, we offer 30-minute semi-private lessons where swimmers are paired up with a swim buddy. We feel that a swim partner is beneficial in many ways (motivation, healthy competition, companionship), and we teach our swimmers side-by-side with each taking frequent turns. The swim buddies are matched through a combination of skills, personality and age. We follow their interactions and progress closely, so that if one swimmer should progress faster than the other, we can make adjustments to keep encouraging their progress. Our commitment to quality and your child’s progress means that we will never have more than 2 swimmers per class.
Parent & Me Lessons
At Little Swimmers we believe that every child has the ability to learn to swim and be confident in the water – even the youngest additions to your family.
We offer our Parent & Me lessons in the smaller of our two UV and carbon filtered saltwater pools kept at 90 degrees for swimmers from the ages of 3 months old to 2 years old. There are never more than 4-5 swimmers and their parents in our classes, and only one lesson in the pool at any time. Lessons are 30 minutes, with 25 minutes of instruction and 5 minutes of playtime at the end. A parent is required to be in the pool with each little swimmer.
Our Parent & Me swim lessons are just as structured as the rest of our swim classes, and go beyond just getting your child to be comfortable in the water. We do follow a set format in each lesson, and while we are able to vary it to the individual swimmer’s motor skill level, we do practice the basics of swimming, and our lessons are not just playtime in the water.
Children who are not yet potty-trained are required to wear a reusable cloth diaper in the pool. These diapers are sold online, or at stores that sell swim apparel, or at our facility.
When your little swimmer is ready to transition out of Parent & Me swim lessons, your instructor will let you know when your swimmer is ready to advance to our Bubbler level, our semi-private lessons without a parent in the pool. We offer the semi-private lessons without a parent in the pool starting at 2 years old.
Private Lessons
We offer private lessons to those of our swimmers that are not able to have a swim buddy, as our semi-private lessons have 2 swimmers with the instructor. Our private lessons are $300 every 4 weeks, 1 lesson per week. We do want to caution that we do not have a specific special needs format, and while our swim instructors may have experience with teaching special needs children, they are not educated in child psychology or behavioral science. They are trained to teach the basics of swimming, and the private lessons allow them to cater to the individual swimmer during the 30 minute lesson.
